Shamanism is an indigenous term for ancient and modern-day spiritual healing practices. It is not about a religion. It is about accessing information from an altered state of consciousness for restoring the connection between people and the universe.
There have been Shamans in existence in all cultures, in all parts of the world for thousands of years. They have been the healers of civilizations who have accepted their commission, their calling, for aiding their fellow humans.
A Shaman will use various methods of healing to achieve this purpose. They journey to other dimensions/levels of consciousness to gather the information needed to treat the body, mind and spirit of the person for the realizing of wholeness and oneness.
Many of these healing methods were discovered and developed by very spiritual people all over the world. Some were part of various religions.
The methods have many similarities, and the ultimate goal is that the person being treated is helped to remove any negative or low-vibratory energy. Usually very spiritual people (not necessarily religious) want others to feel loved, whole and accepted. That is why spiritual, loving and compassionate people discovered and developed many of these healing methods over the centuries.
All belief systems should be respected. The healing is not about any religion. When you are being treated, you are in a safe, nurturing and respectful environment. It is all about you.
The energetic healing methods used in these treatments are very old and are from many cultures. There is nothing “new” about them.
The more we advance in science and technology, the more it is accepted that these holistic treatments are very beneficial and effective, and are not strange as some people once thought.
For example, one of the treatments administered is Reiki, which is currently being used in some hospitals and by many nurses.

Anyone can receive treatments. People from all backgrounds, ages (babies to the elderly), male and female are welcome. Some have very serious health conditions, or are dealing with abuse or grieving. Some have stressful lives and want to cope effectively. Others who are healthy may want to not only maintain their health but also feel great and take their healthy lifestyle up to another level. Some are seeking more clarity in their lives and stronger intuition.
The more we learn the more we come to understand just how much the entire body stores memories and stress. Sometimes it isn’t enough just to talk about our feelings or problems. In order for us to effectively heal, we need pain and stress to be released from our bodies as well.
If we have unresolved issues, or energetic blockages, we are not operating at our optimum and therefore are not feeling our best.
Even people who already feel good and are doing well can take this to a higher level euphoria and elation. These healings are about feeling great, and feeling whole!
No two people are alike. It depends on the condition of your physical, spiritual, and emotional health, what is happening in your life and what goals you are seeking to achieve. Some receive treatments once a week, every few weeks, once a month, or every season.
First, energy healing is not a substitute for professional medical care. It does not have to be an either/or situation. Many medical doctors are amicable to their patients receiving these types of treatments in conjunction with their recommended care.
As with any type of treatment no results are guaranteed due to the dynamic nature of the human body, healing and various health conditions.
It is commonly known that stress is the leading underlying cause of many conditions. Energetic healing while not entirely understood, is known to be a fabulous way of de-stressing and gaining rational perspective. Alleviating and eradicating stress and stressors in one’s life is a huge step towards healing on many levels.
Energetic healing addresses issues known and unknown for the purpose of bringing the person back to a conscious and unconscious state of oneness thereby restoring balance and function. As to exactly how this will manifest cannot be determined or guaranteed. The intention is for the healing for the highest good.
For most of the treatments, you will be laying comfortably on a massage table. You are always fully clothed for these treatments. For your comfort, you should wear loose comfortable clothing and be free of jewelry, unless it is special jewelry of significance to you, precious stones and precious metals.
Everyone’s experience is unique, and some changes may be subtle, some more easily evident. You may experience changes immediately, within a few hours or a few days. It depends on your body and condition. Be gentle with yourself, and schedule quiet time if possible to reflect on your feelings.

Suggestions
It is commonly suggested to drink water after any bodywork sessions, in order to aid in the elimination of toxins. Also, if you choose, it is suggested you get extra rest so your body can process the treatment. You may wish to keep a journal of any changes you are experiencing or any dreams you may have, for you to keep personal record of and/or to discuss at your next session.
If you are taking any type of medication, or have any serious health conditions, be aware of possible fluctuations in your body systems.
Please contact your doctor for any necessary adjustments to your dosage(s) or any other concerns you may have prior to and after a treatment.
Chakras are energy centers all over your body and also in your energy field. There are 7 main Chakras that many systems of healing reference:
7th: Sahasrara: The Crown Chakra
6th: Ajna: The Brow Chakra
5th: Vishuddha: The Throat Chakra
4th: Anahata: The Heart Chakra
3rd: Manipura: The Solar Plexus Chakra
2nd: Svadhisthana: The Sacral Chakra
1st: Muladhara: The Root Chakra
In Acupuncture, the Acupuncturist places the needles on meridians, or energy lines, running through your body. Those meridians are all connected to the Chakras, or energy centers. Our Chakras open and close as needed. However, problems arise when they have stagnations or blockages that prevent them from functioning properly.
The Chakras correspond to various organs in your body as well as to various emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of your life.
For example, think of your home’s electrical wiring. The wiring exists all over the house but each wire connects to breakers in the electrical box. Each breaker manages the wires in different areas of your home. If one of the breakers has “flipped” then that whole area of your home to which it corresponds will be without electricity. Using this example, your body is your home, the meridians are your wiring and the chakras are the breakers.
There are many varied causes of the blockages and stagnations found in Chakras. They can occur from injuries sustained physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. Blockages can occur because of events in this life or from past lives where wounds remain. One can carry remnants of painful events from ancestors’ lives as well.
We all have intuition, or gut feelings. Some people are just more in tune with their ability than others. The more you trust it and the more aware you become, you will refine, heighten and strengthen your abilities. Most intuition is gained through observation. However, you are not only observing in the obvious sense. Yes, understanding the aspects of any situation, observing, and using common sense will prepare you well for where that situation is heading. But that unexplained gut feeling you get is actually your own intuition tuning into the energetic frequencies and vibrations of the situation.
Sound confusing? Many things can be explained quite simply in the following examples:
• When someone you like walks in the room, you feel all warm and “cozy” inside.
• When someone you don’t like walks in the room the hair on the back of your neck bristles even before you turn around.
• A mother suddenly knows that something has happened to one of her children even though they are not present.
• There are well-documented cases of twins that feel the pain their sibling is experiencing as well as other unexplained connections. (It is fascinating studying the connections with twins as this shows more intensely what is actually happening with all of us in our connection to the rest of humanity)
• You may walk into a room where everyone is smiling and you have the feeling that they have just had an argument or that something negative has just occurred.
• You think about a friend you haven’t seen in a long time and suddenly they call you or vice versa.
Energy is created by everything we think, say and do. People and situations emanate a “fingerprint” of energy to which your energy field responds. In the above examples this is what you are responding to whether you realize it or not.
Low vibratory energy is sometimes described as “negative” energy. High vibratory energy is referred to as “positive” energy.
For the Universe, which includes you, to be in balance and in harmony, both forms of energy are required and are necessary and appropriate in various circumstances.
Every action, every thought, every emotion creates a certain energy which you can feel. The energy may make you feel great or make you feel low. Stress is known to be a leading cause of many serious health conditions. To have optimal health one needs to reduce the stressors including those lingering in your energy field as well as within your physical body. You will feel more centered and balanced when you are energetically “clear.”
